Harry H. Chambers, 86, formerly of Taylorsville, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at Bartholomew County Hospital.
Mr. Chambers was a charter resident of Four Seasons Retirement Home, participated in activities at the home and was a member of the home's greeting committee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hathaway-Myers Funeral Home by the Rev. Matthew Malott and the Rev. Thomas Bush. Burial will be at the New Hope Christian Church Cemetery.
Persons may call at Four Seasons Retirement Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday and until services Sunday.
Mr. Chambers was born Sept. 18, 1888, in Howard County, to Perry and Amanda (Boll) Chambers. On Nov. 8, 1908, he married Pearl Smith, who died Oct. 11, 1966.
He was a retired farmer and a member of New Hope Christian Church and a former resident of Madison, where he was a charter member of the Madison Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Chambers of Terrace Lake route 9, and Burton Chambers of Madison; a brother, Earl Chambers of Lexington route 1; two sisters, Mrs. George (Clara) [should be Cleah] Morris and Mrs. Russell (Neva) Chapman, both of Cambridge City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank.
