She was born on November 19, 1933 at Dan Angel's Logging Camp in Montgomery County, the daughter of Thomas J. Short and Esther Forga Short. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husbands, Edward C. Baker, and Clayton Davis; one son, Edward Allen Baker; one brother, Thomas G. Short; and one sister, Barbara Stanley.
She was a devout Christian in her faith and her family and grandchildren were her most prized treasures. She was an accountant by trade.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Scott and Sherry Baker of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother and two sister-in-law, Jimmy and Doris Short of Troutville, Virginia, and Frances Short of North Little Rock; three sisters and three-brother-in-laws, Martin Stanley of Nashville, Teresa and Jerry Stovall of Benton, Charlotte and Eddie Stiles and Linda Wood, all of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Lisa and Luis Amezquita of San Antonio, Texas, Jon Allen Baker of Covington, Tennessee, Christopher Baker, Amber Baker, and Shelby Baker, all of Memphis, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Jerry Stovall officiating.
A private burial by the family will be held at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lowery, Leonard Wood, Eric Brown, Jeremy Stovall, Jerry Irwin, and Michael Irwin.
