She was the daughter of Perry Grant and Gertrude (Cauthen) Wright.
She married Sam B. Scarborough. Their children were: Fred J., Lou and Frances Scarborough.

Mrs. Lona Mae Wright Scarborough, 66, of Route 1, Belton, S. C., widow of Sam B. Scarborough, died Thursday morning, Sept. 27, 1979 at her home after two years' illness.
Born in Hart County, she was a daughter of the late Perry Grant and Gertrude Cauthen Wright. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a merchant.
Surviving are son, the Rev. Fred J. Scarborough of Belton, S. C.; daughters, Mrs. Lou Banister of the home, Mrs. Frances Keith of Ridgecrest, Calif.; grandson, who was reared in the home, John R. Fortner of Belton, S. C.; brother, Julian B. Wright of Anderson, S. C.; sisters, Mrs. Ellen Knight and Mrs. Rose Brown of Anderson, S. C., Mrs. Cecil Martin and Mrs. Alberta Allen of Hartwell; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday at Central Baptist Church by the Revs.Ray Grant and Edwin L. Huggins. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, S. C., was in charge of arrangements.
