Bulah B. Huff was born March 29, 1899, in Huntington, Angelina Co., TX to Hiram R. Wilson and his wife,Julia Anna Scruggs Conner. She was the only child to this marriage but had older siblings from both her parents.Grandpa Wilson left the family when Bulah was a "sitting-alone" baby and Julia Anna was left to support the family by share-cropping on farms. The older Conner boys, Alex and Jess were a great help. Bulah married Joseph VanBuren Pinner Jan. 5, 1913 in Huntington, Angelina Co., TX. They had 4 children; ValVirda (Mobley), Archie Bell (Holmes), J.V. "Jake" Pinner and Jesse Jefferson Pinner. After a stay in Oklahoma, they were divorced. and Bulah married Willie Dell Huff in Sabine Co., TX; Jan. 26, 1923. He was a widower with 5 children. Together they had 8 more children: Shelton, Leslie, Marie, Faye,Julia, Dorthy,Jerrel, and Theo. They lived most of their lives in the Old Salem Community, Newton Co., TX. Mama Huff died at age 96 years.
