Mrs. C. R. Hinson, a well known and highly respected lady, departed this life Thursday, May 10, at 8:10 a. m. a the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Carter, after an illness of seven month and at the time of her death was aged 70 years, 2 months and 11 days.

Martha Ellen Stouffer, daughter of W. M. and Kathryn (Lewis) Stouffer was born Feb. 29, 1804, in the state of Missouri and later moved to Carroll county, where she spent forty year with the exception of one year in Nebraska. For the past twenty years she had resided in and near Bogard.

On Feb. 2, 1892, she was united in marriage with C. R. Hinson, who preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1930. To this union three children were born all of whom survive, viz.: William J. Hinson, of Bogard; Henry Hinson, o near Roads; and Mrs. Henry Carter, of near Bogard. Two step-children also survive, viz.: Mrs. Walter Jacobs, of Bosworth, and Grover Hinson, of near Stet. She is survived by eight grand children and seven step grand children One sister and three brothers are left to mourn her passing, viz.: Mrs. Oscar Whitney, northwest of Carrollton; April Stouffer, of the state of Kansas; William and C. C. Stouffer, both of Norborne. A brother and sister had preceded her in death.
When young she united with Low Gap Baptist church and later transferred her membership to Bogard Baptist church where for the past eighteen years has been a faithful member.

The deceased was a faithful wife, a devoted mother, stepmother and grand mother, a good neighbor, and a kind and loving sister, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her best.

Funeral services in her memory were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from Bogard Baptist church, conducted by Rev. W O. G. Potter, of Hardin, assisted by Rev. L. B. Hargrove and Rev. W. V. Gastian, both of Bogard, and Internment was in Mt. Olive cemetery.

Active pallbearers were six nephews viz.: Ernest, Charlie and Earl Stouffer Eugene, Marvin and Nolan Whitney. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. W. E Davis, Mrs. C. H. Best, Miss Roberto Henderson, Mrs. C. M. Street, Mrs. M J. Trussell and Mrs. J. C. Rogers.

The music consisted of a vocal sole "That Mother Mine" by Mrs. E. G Fleming, a quartet, "Saved by Grace" Misses Loreen Mohler and Elizabeth Cramer, Messrs. Oscar Penny and Lewis Cramer. "The Old Rugged Cross" was rendered by a mixed choir, and Miss Lorene Busby presided at the piano for all three selections. The floral offer­ings were abundant and beautiful. We extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
