Deceased Name: SADIE IRENE MINNICH
Sadie Irene Minnich, 84, Calcium, formerly of Rome and Harrisburg, Pa., died Saturday at the home of her son, Harry L. Minnich Jr., where she had been residing. She had been under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Minnich owned and operated a beauty shop in Harrisburg. She was a homemaker.
Born July 1, 1916, in Harrisburg, daughter of Claude P. and Anna Rhodes Wilt, she married Harry L. Minnich of Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Feb. 25, 1938, at her parents' home in in Carlisle, Pa. He died Dec. 4, 1995.
She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rome, for more than 20 years, and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rome, where she had served as deacon, church elder and superintendent of the primary Sunday school.
Surviving besides her son are a daughter, Annita L. Kring, Alexandria Bay, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Velva Baschore, Almeda Care and Pauline Mclean, died before her.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, Pa.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ronald Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, Pa.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or the Alzheimer's Association.
