Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Andrew "A.V." Turner, age 94, of Lula. The Rev. Wayne Strickland will officiate. Interment will follow in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Turner passed away Friday, Nov. 19 at his residence.

Mr. Turner was born in Hall County to the late James Turner and Viola Buffington Turner. He had worked for General Motors for 31 years and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was the oldest member. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Erline Buffington; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Turner, Lula; son, Richard Turner, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Loretta Turner, Michigan; stepson and wife, Tim and Jeanine Faust, South Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ernie Tyvaert, Michigan, Robin and Mike Wood, Canada; sister, Vernell Tanner, Gainesville; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4824 England Road, Gainesville, GA 30507.

Ward's Funeral Home, 758 Main St., S.W., Gainesville is in charge of arrangements.
