BRADLEY, James Phillips Sr., 70, of Shawsville, passed away Sunday, September 21, 1997. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert H. Bradley Sr. of Chatsworth, Ga., and was retired from the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C., where he was an Industrial Hygienist for OSAH Division and a member of the National Auditing Team. Mr. Bradley served with the U.S. Nary during World War II on the USS Mississippi and at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances Lane Bradley; five children and spouses, Lane Bradley Canada and Jerry of Roanoke, J. Phill Bradley Jr. and Shaye of Palm City, Fla., Laree Bradley Hinshe lwood and Jack of Shawsville, Loris Bradley of Houston, Texas, and Robert H. Bradley II of Salem; eight grandchildren, Ben Canada of Williamsburg, Jennie Canada of Roanoke, Bradley, Holly and Sarah Hinshelwood of Shawsville, and J. Phill III, Jeffrey and Julia Bradley of Palm City, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Miriam B. Camp of Winder, Ga. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg, with the Rev. Stephen King officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shawsville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14, Shawsville, Va.
