Funeral Service Conducted For Darden Kelley

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Seydler Funeral Home for Darden Alexander Kelley, 41, who died Sunday at 6:45 a.m. In Holmes Hospital of gunshot wounds. TheRev. M. T. Jenkins pastor of the East Side Baptist Church, and the Rev. W. J. Bushing of Hull officiated and burial was in Denton Creek cemetery.

Mr. Kelley was born Oct. 10, 1906, in Gonzales county, the son of D. B. and Josephine Arnold Kelley. His mother died 1915. He had been a member of the Baptist denomination since his youth. He married Miss Jewel Johnson.
Oct. 29, 1927. He served in the navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; father, D. B. Kelley Sr., step-mother, Mrs. D. B. Kelley Sr., six brothers, Buck, Homer, Scott, Sterling and D. B. Kelley Jr., all of Gonzales and Joe Kellry of California; six sisters, Mrs. Dewey Hallmark of Waelder, Ames. Harvey Fisherof Elgin, Mrs. Mike Ryan, Mrs. W. Walker, Miss. Patsy Kelley and Miss Joy Kelley, all of Gonzales.
Pallbearers were E. E. Smith Jr., Alton Walshak, Henry Edwards, Ray Patterson, Leonard Greer, Claude Thom, Homer Neitsch and Oscar Baron.
