OAKLAND — Alfred Thomas "Blue" Marucci Sr., 92, of Oakland, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Oakland.

Born Jan. 20, 1921, in Ernest, Pa., he was the son of the late Ruggero and Pauline (Federici) Marucci. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gwendolyn (Adams) Marucci; three brothers, Peter Marucci, Mendan Marucci and Guido Marucci and three sisters, Louise Pisegna, Theresa Gladden and Mary Kenney.

Blue was the owner and operator of Garrett County Memorial Gardens. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member and past president of the Oakland Mt. Lake Lions Club. Blue was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Mark A. "Bubba" Marucci and companion Michelle Conner, of Oakland and Alfred T. "Al" Marucci II, of Oakland; one daughter, Paula L. Redinger and husband Butch, of Oakland; two brothers, Negie Marucci and Carlo Marucci, both of Republic, Pa.; one sister, Lucy "Sue" Shoaf, of Carmichaels, Pa.; four grandchildren, Matthew T. Redinger and wife Heather, Megan R. Redinger and companion Seth Tressler, Regis F. Marucci and wife Chrissy, all of Oakland and Alfred T. "A.T." Marucci III, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Brevin Redinger, Griffin Redinger, Gianni Redinger, all of Lewisville, N.C., Cameron Blue Redinger and Rocco Anthony Marucci, of Oakland.

Friends will be received at St. Peter the Apostle Parish Hall, on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, on Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Father Don Parson, Monsignor Martin Field and Monsignor Paul Byrnes officiating.

Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
