Rose C. Kubik, 90 of Valparaiso, formerly of Weston, died May 31, 2013 at the Saunders House in Wahoo, NE. Rose was born May 25, 1923 to Thomas and Mary (Scharf) Bejvancesky near Valparaiso, NE. She attended Indian Camp country school then graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1940.
She was united in marriage to Emil E. Kubik on June 1, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valparaiso. They lived on the family farm west of Weston their entire married life of 65 years. She loved living on the farm and helping with the field work and doing chores. She raised chickens, ducks and geese and loved her bucket calves. Rose enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for family and friends. After the death of her husband she moved to Valparaiso in October 2008; then to Wahoo in January 2012.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Emil in September 2008; parents; son, Alvin Kubik; son-in-law, Alfred Potter; brothers and spouses, Louis Bejvancesky, Albert and Lydia Bejvancesky, Ed and Wilma Bejvancesky, Joe and Albina Bejancesky, infant twin brothers; sisters, Emma Bejvancesky, Annie and Louis Brecka; brother-in-law, William Walters.
She is survived by her children, Janie and Clyde Nelson of Valparaiso, Darrell and Kathy Kubik of Lincoln, Joan Potter of Weston; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Kubik of Weston; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Walters of Lincoln
