He was born March 8, 1939, in Decatur, NE to Glen and Lydia (Knapp) Redding. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1956. Redding was a telephone engineer who had worked in Iowa or Missouri all his working years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Lisa Hake; two brothers, Lawrence and Mike; and two sisters, Lois Neighbors and Edith Tondl.
