Mrs. Alice Douglas, age 67 of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at her home.

The memorial services were held on Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Harlan Van Oort officiated. Interment was prior to the service at west Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City was in charge of arrangements.

Alice Mae was born May 6, 1930, in Stanton, Iowa, the daughter of Axel and Alice (Floburg) Lantz. She was raised in Elliot, Iowa, and graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

She then moved to Red Oak, Iowa, where she taught Physical Education classes for three years.

On June 13, 1954, she married Earle Douglas in Stanton. They lived in Ames, Iowa, for two years, and Laurens, Iowa, for fifteen years. In 1971, they moved to Orange City, where they have since made their home.

Alice was an active member in the American Reformed Church, where she was involved in the life of the congregation.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Sara and David Kozeluh of Woodruff, Wisconsin; and Amy and Scott Sieperda of Rock Rapids, Iowa; three sons, Dan and his wife Wende of Storm Lake, Iowa; John of Pella, Iowa, and Mark of Lawrence, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Douglas and Craig Kozeluh; Sabrina, Hunter and Ivy Mae Sieperda; and Alison, Heather and Peter Douglas; her mother, Alice Lantz of Red Oak; two brothers, Howard Lantz and his wife, Betty of Red Oak; and Axel Lantz, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister and her husband, Lucille and Darwin Bailey of Red Oak; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Larson of Overland Park, Kansas; and Robert Anderson of Stanton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Doris Jean Larson and Norma Anderson.

Memorials are being directed to the Orange City Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Sioux County Hospice, and the American Reformed Church Children's Library.
