Mr. Ropp was born May 11, 1903, in Dry Grove Township, McLean County, a son of Albert and Mary Schad Ropp. He married Marie A. Dahl August 29, 1936, in Bloomington. She died January 15, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Ropp, Noblesville, Ind., and Richard Ropp, Edinboro, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Ropp was a tool and die maker for Eureka-Williams Corp., Bloomington, for many years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Lodge 1000 of the International Association of Machinists and the Senior Citizens of the Machinists Union.
An avid bowler, he was a member of the Bloomington Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Mr. Ropp also was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
