Dr. William V. Best, 62, Columbia, MO, formerly of Kansas City, died Sept. 8, 1994, in Columbia. Graveside services were held Saturday in Brunswick, MO. Dr. Best was born in Mendon, MO, and lived in Columbia, before moving to Kansas City in 1961. He returned to Columbia in 1984. He was a research chemist for the Midwest Research Institute before he retired. He received a bachelor's degree from Central Methodist College, Fayette, MO, and a master's degree and a doctorate degree in physical chemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a member of the Sigma Xi and the American Chemical Society. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
