Funeral services for Gt. H. De Vries, 67, of Sioux City, were held in the Gospel Church at Orange City at 3 p.m. Monday.
Mr De Vries passed away from a heart attack at his home Friday morning.
Born at Orange City June 7, 1898, Mr. De Vries spent most of his life in this vicinity, and later resided in Sioux City.
Survivors are one daughter, Eunice (Mrs. Teunis Swets) of Bellflower, Calif., and one son, Dean De Vries of Orange, Calif. There are 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Andrew De Vries, Steve De Vries and Charles De Vries; 3 sisters, Mrs. Gt. Peters, Mrs. Gertrude Aalders, and Mrs. Cornelius Pals, all of Orange City.
Rev. David Hadley, pastor of Orange City Gospel Church, and Rev. Harvey De Vries of Wheaton, Ill., officiated at the funeral service.
The pall bearers were the nephews, John Harvey De Vries, Harold Pals, Clarence Peters, Russell Kraai, Clifford Pals, also one brother-in-law, Pete Mouw.
Interment was made in the Westlawn Cemetery here, under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
