George Albert Sauter, Jr. - born December 16, 1926 in DeQueen AR to the late George Albert and Thad Sauter, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. He was a World War II veteran of the Army, graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in chemical engineering and retired from International Paper after 30 years of service. George was a faithful member of and held many positions in Cottage Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Sullivan Sauter. George is survived by their two sons, Dr. Kent Sauter (Janice) and Todd F. Sauter (Kelly); and grandsons, Cpl. James A. Sauter and Devin N. Sauter; brother, John Sauter; and sister, Marie Munsterman. George is also survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Marie Horton Sauter, her family, and their many friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Memory of George Sauter, 4255 Cottage Hill Rd., Mobile, AL 36609.
