"Morgan Hill Times"

Died - In Paradise Valley, May 18, 1899, Rev. W.W. Kelley, aged 68 years.
Mr. Kelley was an old soldier and also a missionary to Africa and while in Africa he contracted a lung trouble that lasted him through many years. Recently he took a severe cold from the effects of which pneumonia and congestion of the lungs set in. He died in a a few days. Services were held at the M. E. Church, Rev. Horton of San Jose preached the funeral sermon. The remains were buried at Mount Hope cemetery, Morgan Hill.
His widow was Minerva A. Hawkins. She was a daughter of John F. Hawkins and his wife, Mary E. Welch Hawkins. Viola and Mary are in the same cemetery plot in Mount Hope. Neither stone has dates but from research Mary E. Hawkins was born August 1834, per trhe 1900 census, and died Nov 14, 1922.
