DR. E. GORDON CROCKER 87, went to be with his Lord on September 19, 2010 at his home. He was a member of Balmoral Baptist Church and retired after 23 years as the Director of Missions for the Shelby County Baptist Association and was still serving as Director Emeritus. Dr. Crocker also served as pastor of Leaclair Baptist Church for 7 years. He and his wife worked together with missions for 6 years in Ecuador. Dr. Crocker was a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Union University, throughout which time he pastored 6 churches. At the young age of 12 years old he was called to preach and preached his first sermon.

Dr. Crocker is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bettye Crocker; son, Tom (Paula) Crocker of Germantown; daughter, Becky (John) Yarbrough of Cordova; sister, Morine Belew of Milan, TN; two brothers, T.M. Crocker, Jr. of Milan, TN, Joe Crocker of Atoka, TN; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Lindsey, Ashley, Emily, Amy, Micah, Steven; fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 22 at Balmoral Baptist Church, 2676 Kirby Road. There will be a private family interment immediately following. The family invites memorials be sent to Lottie Moon Missions Offering, International Mission Board, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230.
