WILLIAM HERRICK -Another Old Settler Called to Rest - A Resident for 47 years - A Constable of Rockford at an Early Day

Just three weeks ago Miss Sarah Herrick was called from this world to the next, and shortly after 6 o'clock last evening her brother William Herrick joined her beyond the grave. The deceased was a brother of E.L. Herrick, the meat market man. He came to this section from Massachusetts in the spring of 1888 and here has ever since lived. He was 66 years of age at the time of his demise, and was the third of a large family of children to pass away. He has been in feeble health for some years past, the result of a sunstroke. Inflammation of the brain caused death. Wednesday the deceased was about his business, but the following day was confined to his bed.

Deceased was at one time constable of the town of Rockford at the time G. A. Sanford was sheriff. Of late years his health has been such as to prevent him from engaging in hard labor. He drove Wm. Logue's hearse for a time. A wife and two grown-up daughters survive the gentleman. One of the latter is the young lady book-keeper employed in County Treasurer Partch's office.

The funeral occurs tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence on North Third Street.
