From The Wolbach Messenger, August 12, 1971, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney:

John Henry Zimmerle passed away July 26, 1971 at Tilden at the age of 62 years and eight months. He was born at Belgrade in Pinnacle Hill vicinity. He farmed for a number of years in Nance and Boone counties and then moved to Omaha where he worked for a construction company for several years. Three years ago he moved from Omaha to Tilden to be near his daughter, Mrs. Lavona Ruterbories.

Funeral services were held on July 30th at the Fullerton Memorial Chapel and burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lavona Ruterbories; two sons, David and William of California; six grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Inez Taylor and Mrs. Moma Newmann both of Central City, Mrs. Norma Leota Richards of Columbus, Santa Rosa, California. [It appears a line was left out in listing the sisters, between the words Columbus and Santa Rosa.]

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Cleone, a son, John, a grand-daughter Kim, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
