J Franklin Norcross, 86, of Sarasota, and formerly of Springfield, Mass., died here on Friday. He was a managing partner of Coopers & Lybrand, Certified Public Accountants, in Springfield, and retired in 1974. Born in Springfield, he was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance. He was a member of Alpha Chi Rho, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Masschusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Sarasota University Club, and the Oaks. He was treasurer of the Springfield Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris fellow. He also was treasurer of StageWest, the Off-Soundings Club, the Pioneer Valley Boy Scout Council, and the Grandfather Golf and Country Club, and president of the Springfield Orchestra Association and the Lake Point Woods Residents Association. He was a board member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Colony Club. He leaves his wife, Kathryn Norcross ; a son, John of Suffolk, Va.; a grandson, James, and a grandaughter, Sarah. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday at Lake Point Woods.
