George Curtis McLaughlin, 80, of Charleston, WV passed away from this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2009. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Iris for eternity. Curt as he was known by family and friends started his working career with Gunnoe's Sausage. He eventually became a self employed electrician up to the time of his retirement. Curt was always proud of his membership to the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Beni Kedem Temple, Charleston, WV.
It has been said that the measure of a man is the size of his heart and Curt had a big heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends with any project, he was particularly adept at home building, automotive or electrical.
Curt will be missed by many family and friends.
He is survived by one brother, Howard C. McLaughlin, of The Plains, Ohio and one sister, Vivian D. Eggleston, of Charleston, WV. He is preceded in death by his parents Jacob F. McLaughlin and Nancy E. tanner McLaughlin, as well as eleven brother and sisters. Curt leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly. The family would like to give special thank to Mark (nephew) and Sherry Dawson for the love, care and support of Curt and Iris for many years.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 3pm to 5pm, Sunday, November 15, at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home.
Services will be held 11am, Monday, November 16, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
