Bethany of New York City; his daughter, Carol A Bethany of Canton; and his brother, Haskell Bethany of Birmingham, AL. Mr. Bethany was a humble and grateful family man and a man of faith and service.

Mr. Bethany was born in Shuqualak, MS where he graduated high school and earned an Eagle Scout honor. He was a 1951 graduate and avid supporter of Mississippi State University. He served our country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Navy Lieutenant and later from the reserves. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church; in Jackson, first at Wesley and finally at Christ United, and he served each in many capacities. Mr. Bethany also earned the distinction of 50 years of perfect attendance in the North Jackson Lions Club where he served as President, Treasurer and other positions. His career included long-term executive positions, professional honors and certifications with the Andrew Jackson companies and Financial Services of Mississippi, Inc. both in Jackson, MS. His die hard golf game challenged all he faced.

We know that John (Boo, Dad, Pop, Mr. B, and Uncle Boo) has carried with him his sincerity, laughter, sparkle and charm.
