Emerson Lutz, 94, of Madisonville, KY passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

He was born March 12, 1918 in the Wolf Hollow area of Hopkins County to the late Mary Ella Daniel Lutz and late Elmo Pratt Lutz. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Sisk Lutz; seven sisters, Nettie Clayton, Vada Shelton, Rachel Stum, Mabel Lutz, Louetta Weedman, Mary Gray Lutz, and Ruthie Lutz; and three brothers, Lawrence Lutz, James O. "Jay" Lutz, and Lowell Lutz.

He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II as an airplane mechanic. He was a retired US postal clerk, an ordained Baptist Minister, and a member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville.

He is survived by his son, Jim (Patty) Lutz of Madisonville; two step-daughters, Cheryl Conner of Henderson, KY and Rhonda Miracle of Corbin, KY; two grandchildren, Emily (Daniel) Berry of Lexington, KY and Jason (Sara) Lutz, of Madisonville, KY; three great-grandchildren, Ann Claire Lutz, Brennan Berry, and Charlie Berry. He is also survived by three sisters, Dorothy Russell of Bristol, TN, Janet Reis of Bristol, Betty Hawkins of Nashville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family interment service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
