Mrs. Melissa Hammond, widow of the late Mr. French Hammond, died at 6:45 o'clock Tuesday evening at the Mount Vernon hospital where she had been a patient suffering from a stroke of paralysis sustained about two weeks ago. Mrs. Hammond, who was about 65 years of age, is survived by one son, Mr. Herbert Hammond. Funeral services at the Miller Chapel, N. Main Street, at 3 o'clock Thursday morning, burial in the Berlin cemetery.
