Soto in 1961 in Alton. Mr. Van Hyning was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. He worked for Eli Bridge in Jacksonville and retired from Oscar Mayer in Beardstown in 1993. Survivors: wife, Lucy M.; a daughter, Angela (husband, Homer) Jenkins of Murphysboro; a son, Paul (wife, Marina) Van Hyning of California; three grandchildren; seven brothers, Kenneth (wife, Alma) Van Hyning of Winchester, James (wife, Helen) Van Hyning of Streator, Martin (wife, Thelma) Van Hyning of Aurora, Colorado, and Leonard (wife, Rosetta), Robert (wife, Wanda), William (wife, Pat) and Darry (wife, Lois) Van Hyning, all of Meredosia; two sisters, Doris Butterfield of Meredosia and Wilma (husband, Kenneth) Lane of Sebring, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
