Allan B. Catey, 76, Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, July 9,2008 at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born June 1,1932 in Carlos, IN the son of the late John William and Iris (Moore) Catey. He was a 1950 graduate of Huntsville High School.

Allan served honorably with the US Army. He was retired after 32 years as a machinist for Borg Warner of Muncie. Honesty, integrity and hard work were his daily practices as a lifelong farmer of Randolph Co. He was a member of both the Randolph Co. and the Wayne Co. Antique Tractor Clubs. He also was a member of the Huntsville Community Center.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 52 years, Norma E. Catey; three sons, Steven L. Catey (fiancé Lisa) of Williamsburg, Daniel R. Catey of Chesapeake Bay, VA, and Gary W. Catey of Franklin, IN; two daughters, Kimila Catey of Losantville, IN and Shelly K. (husband Randy) Snider of Lynn, IN; two brothers, Phillip Catey (wife Dinah) of Gas City, IN and John Mark Catey (wife Cathy) of Georgia; a sister, Jane Young (companion Harry Wymer) of Union City, IN; ten grandchildren, Scott Catey, Julie Huser (husband Matt), Brad Catey (wife Darcy), Ashley Catey, Evan Catey, Samantha Snider, Cory Catey, Jake Snider, Luke Brewster and Mariah Brewster; four great-grandchildren Alec, Drew, Ashton and Ashayla; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

A service to celebrate Allan's life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14,2008 at Thomas Memorial Chapel in Lynn. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport.
