Eldon W. Hale, 73, of Wichita Falls, left this life to go to a better life on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Charlie Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
The son of George White and Johnnie Pearl Hale. Eldon was born on April 25, 1940 in Childress, Texas where he grew up and graduated Valedictorian from Kirkland High School. He moved to Wichita Falls and attended Draughon's Business School. Eldon was employed as the Manager over shoes by Treasure City until its closing. He then took over as the manager of JC Penney's shoe department.
Eldon loved to garden, but his passion was for cars. He was very mechanically inclined and able to fix anything. Some of his fondest memories were growing up on the farm and the Pontiac he had as a young man. He had a soft heart for animals.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents and his only sister, Laverne H. Billington. He is survived by his son, Brant Hale and wife, Nicole, daughter, Sheri Mummert and husband, David, both of Wichita Falls; Six grandchildren, Michael W. and wife Sabrina of San Diego CA, Michael M, of Plano, TX Jason, Julie and Morgan all of Wichita Falls; three great grandchildren, Sierra, Savannah and Haidyn and his former wife, Patricia Hale, also of Wichita Falls.
