Born November 16, 1912, in the Crossroads community south of Sheridan, he was a son of the late Hartford Ross Gwin and Nora Bratton Gwin.
He was a retired Sheridan Water commissioner.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan.
He had been a Mason for the past 50 years.
He served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Sisson of Jacksonville and Colene Shettles of Conway; a brother, D.B. ÒPreacherÓ Gwin Sr. of Sheridan; a sister, Marie Gentry of Benton; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services United Methodist Church of Sheridan with the Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
