Barbara Lee Birge Austin (1932 - 2013)
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Lee Birge Austin, age 80, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Dr. John Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Austin died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Maplewood Health Care.
She was born in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Rev. Raymond Jean Birge and Bonnie Fox Birge. She was a retired bookkeeper for Whalley Construction Company and attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she played piano and organ. She was married on June 30, 1968 to Mr. Bobby Austin. Mrs. Austin loved traveling, fishing, camping and gardening.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Manning.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby R. Austin of Jackson; her sons, Alan Russell and wife Faira of Jackson, and Jamie Russell and wife Rhonda of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
