Mr. Davis was born in Nevarre, but had resided in Canton most of his life. He had been employed at the Bonnot Company in Canton 33 years before retiring 18 months ago. He was a member of the First Christian Church at Canton and was a past counselor of the Daughters of America and a member of the Junior Order of the Organization at North Industry.
Besides his widow, Mrs, viola Davis, he is survived by a son, Wilbur Davis of Massillon; four step-sons, Thomas, Evan, Alex, Jr; and George Davis, all of Mansfield; four step-daughters, Mrs. Merle Beer, Mrs. Earl Fox, and Mrs. Lee Grogg, all of Mansfield, and Mrs. Mary Varner of Monica, Pa; a brother, William H. Davis of Swissvale, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs., Elmer Hof of Parma and Mrs. Phil Biery of Canton; 26 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Whitticar funeral home, Canton, with the Rev. P.H. Wilshimer, pastor of the Canton First Christian Church, officiatiing. Interment will be made in the East Liberty cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.
