Clarence "Whitey" Beckham, 94, of Owenton, died April 22, 2005, at New Horizons Medical Center.

Born Sept. 23, 1910, in Owen County, he was a retired Transportation Cabinet employee with the highway department. He was the son of the late William and Ella Jane Dickerson Beckham.

He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Minch of Owenton; a son, Danny Beckham of Glencoe; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Edna Mae Dempsey Beckham and Dehilia Shelton Beckham; six brothers, Ben T. "Hawk, Teddy, Charlie, Ernest, Dupey "Pete" and Hicks Beckham; a sister, Lockett Smith; and a grandson, Travis Minch.

Funeral services were held April 25 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bro. John Lucas officiating. Burial was in Owenton Cemetery.
