Pvt. John Wiley Adams died on April 6, 1877 in Eureka, Illinois and was laid to rest in the Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Eureka, Illinois, leaving Lucinda with four children under the age of 12.
Sometime before 1880, Lucinda was married to John Wesley Titsworth, who was 8 years younger than Lucinda. John Wesley Titsworth was born in Missouri about 1855/56, possibly the son of Ezekial Titsworth and Comfort (Evans) Titworth. Several more children were born to John Wesley and Lucinda. Those known are Susie Titsworth and Stella Ann.
