Emma Lou Pierce, age 88 of Lampasas, Texas died Thursday May 23, 2013 at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital. Emma Lou was born August 21, 1924 in Naruna, Texas the daughter of Everett Morris Vann and Ruth Ellis (Bodenhamer) Vann. She graduated from Lampasas High School, and went on to attend Jackson Business School. Emma Lou was a bookkeeper for Ann's Ladies Shop and J.C. Penney. She was a member of the Confederate Air Force and flew in a P-51 with Lefty Gardner. She was a member of the Central Christian Church. Emma Lou enjoyed arrow head hunting, playing bridge, and collecting barbed wire. She was devoted to her family, and lived in the Lampasas area all of her life.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Ann Humphres and husband Jim (Clif), Lou Gene McLean and husband Michael. Brother, Morris Vann and wife Nikki. Grandchildren; Jamison Humphres and wife Traci Shannon Humphres Great-grandchild, Jace Humphres

Emma Lou was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Pierce, her brothers Frankie and Clarence D., and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or the American Cancer Society.
