BOBBITT, James Earl 49, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013. He was born in Tallahassee. He was raised in Tampa and Franklin, TN. He graduated from Page High School in Franklin, TN, in 1982 & from Florida State University in 1987, where he was a Kappa Alpha, with bachelor degrees in Real Estate and Finance. He worked in the Real Estate Appraisal business in Tallahassee, Houston and Los Angeles before moving to Tampa in 1995. He was a Senior Vice President, Investment Properties with CBRE, Inc. in Tampa. He married Karen Anne Flaherty, in April 1997 in Tampa. They have two children, Kendall Flaherty Bobbitt and Jackson Edward Bobbitt. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling with his family. He was active in his neighborhood association. He recently participated in the American Lung Associations "Fight For Air Climb." He was a dedicated, successful boys youth baseball coach and girls youth soccer coach, recently coaching a championship girls soccer team: The Wolves. He enjoyed taking the neighborhood children & adults tubing & wake boarding on the lake, jet skiing, many water sports, and taking care of his yard. He is survived by his children, Jackson and Kendall of Odessa; his mother, Marianne Ellis Bradley (Laurens K.) of Palm Harbor; his father, James Edward Bobbitt (Eddie Mae) of German town, TN; his former wife, Karen Flaherty Bobbitt of Odessa; sister, Barbie Bobbitt of Minneapolis MN; his brother, Benjamin Bobbitt of Germantown TN; sister, Yvonne Bradley Newkirk (Jim) of Brentwood TN; aunt, Louise Ellis Burnett of Tampa; uncle, Benjamin Ellis of Tampa; aunt, Mary Jane Bobbitt Heros of Maine; and girlfriend, Brenda Marrero of Tampa; very supportive in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and may wonderful friends. Visitation will be Saturday, May 25th, from 12:301 pm, with a Celebration of Life to begin at 1 pm, both at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa.
