Pearl Jean Graves, 80, formerly of Monon, died Saturday, November 30, 2002, at Monticello Healthcare and Assisted Living. She had been ill for several months.

She was born in Francesville on March 10, 1922, to Victor and Louise Clerget Moncel. She married George Graves in 1988. He died in 1997.

She lived in Monon most of her life.

She was retired from General Foods in Lafayette, where she worked as a fork lift operator for 10 years.

She was a member of the Monon Eagles, the American Legion of Lafayette and the VFW of Lafayette.

Surviving are sons Elbert (Linda) Cummings of Elkhart and Dale (Sharon) Cummings of Linden; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Grace Pauley of Monon and Dorothy Briles of Chesterton.

One son, Fred Cummings, and one grandson, five brothers and four sisters are deceased.

Services were at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon on Tuesday with Rev. Steve Birch officiating.

Burial was in Bedford Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to hospice or the American Heart Association.
