His obituary is available at www.fultonhistory.com in the Syracuse Journal, Oct 14, 1929 and Oct 18, 1929. According to his obituary, he was a WWI veteran in the New Jersey National Guard who spent 18 months serving in France. I have not found a military record for him on ancestry.com but perhaps because he was in the National Guard rather than the U.S. Army.
