He was born in Fowler, Indiana to Pinckney Alexander Lyda and Emma Rachel Prose Lyda.
He is a brother to Lela (Slason), Erwin Milford, Vena Pinckney (Musller), Benjamin Otha Lyda.
He married Ruby Anna Gingery and the union bore three children, Ralph, Harold and Charlotte.
According to my Uncle Harold, my Grandfather farmed most his life. After getting out of the Army after WW1, he moved to Santa Barbara in 1922. He worked farming and also for American Express Railroad Co. Him and Ruby were married in 1926 and in 1931 returned to Colorado. He farmed there until his passing at Fitzimmon Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. I have 2 different death dates for my Grandfather, though all my records from family shows it as Feb 28th. Not March 2nd as is stated on his headstone.
