Ness City -- Martina L. Petersilie, 79, died Jan. 30, 1998, at Grisell Memorial Long Term Care Center, Ransom. She was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Ellis County, the daughter of Adam and Kate Meis Lang.

A Ness County resident since 1922, she was a homemaker. She belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Christian Mothers, both at Ness City.

On Oct. 10, 1942, she married Ray Petersilie at Evanston, Ill. He died Aug. 25, 1996.

Survivors include: a son, Douglas R., Ness City; three brothers, Richard Lang, Ellinwood, Alden Lang, Hutchinson, and Ernie Lang, Oklahoma City; four sisters, Albertina Albracht, Tilden, Neb., Virginia Lindsey, Wichita, Mildred Ensz and Florence Dick, both of Hutchinson; and three grandchildren.

Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City, with Father Marvin Reif presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ness City Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the church or to Grisell Memorial Long Term Care Center, both in care of the funeral home.
