Mr. Riley J. "Sonny" Cook, age 69, passed away Thursday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mr. Cook retired form Hunt Wesson Inc. after twenty five years of service. He was a member of the Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church, enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. H. Cook, and his siblings, James Lester Cook, Mattie H. Davis, and Sarah Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Cook of Brooklet; his son, Jeffrey Cook of Statesboro; his step-daughter, Amy (Richard) Waddail of Adrian, GA; two grandchildren, Robert K. (Karen) Carter, III of Swainsboro, GA and Richard J. (Alicia) Waddail of Huntsville, AL; two great grandchildren, Zoe Abigail Carter and Lanie Keegan Waddail; and two sisters, Rachel Healey and Carolyn Beston.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bill Durrence officiating.

Interment will be in the Brooklet City Cemetery.
