Mabel Baker was born in Wirth, Arkansas on September 13, 1926, the daughter of Otto Koenig and Allie Schremmer Koenig, and departed this life on December 1, 2020 at the age of 94.

She was united in marriage on January 2, 1946 to Arthur W. Baker. To this union two children were born, Larry Leon Baker and Sharon K. Shelton.

Mabel is survived by her daughter, Sharon K. Shelton and husband, Arthur Fred of Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Gerdie Farrar and husband, Bob of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Grace Case of Independence, Missouri; niece, Jo Beth Davis; nephews, Eddie Koenig, Terry Case, Earl Case and Jerry Break; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Allie Koenig; her son, Larry Leon Baker; and two brothers, John Koenig and George Koenig.

Mabel was a Christian and baptized in the Church of Christ.

She was a homemaker, taking care of her children and husband. Mabel was a good cook.

Mabel enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also liked working in her yard. She raised both flowers and vegetables in her gardens.

She will be remembered as loving wife and mother and will truly be missed by her family and all who knew her.

A private family service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Robert Brown officiating.

Burial will be on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Baker Cemetery in Hardy, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
