Billy Wayne Hinkle, 77, of Odessa, went home to be with our Lord, God & Savior on Monday, May 20, 2013 in Odessa.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Sunset chapel, with Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Billy was born in Paint Rock, TX to Charlie and Oma Hinkle on October 13, 1935.

He went to school in Baird, TX. He married Sandra Freeman Hinkle on March 2, 2009 in Odessa, TX. He graduated from Baird High School. He worked as a lineman for TXU Electric for 40 years. He was in the Air Force from 1953 to 1956. He was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and he volunteered for Christmas in April.

Billy is preceded in death by Geneva Hinkle, the mother of his children (married 53 years); parents, Charlie and Oma Hinkle; brother, Dewey E. Hinkle; and older sister, Lois.

Billy is survived by wife, Sandra Freeman Hinkle; daughters, Vickie Ramsay of Odessa, Teresa Isom of Bridgeport, TX, Kathy Posey of Odessa; step daughters, Milinda Martin, Charlotte Davis, and Leila Conklin; grandchildren, Brandi Yell, Bryson Isom, Billy T. South, and Jerry South; great grandchildren, Kelby Young, Ethan Yell, Alli Yell, Blake Smith, Asher Isom, Marilyn South and Corey South.

He enjoyed tinkering around the house, carving things with his tools, and playing with his dogs, Molly, Missy, Lady, Sheba, Lil and Babe.

Memorials may be made to Home Hospice.
