JOHN J. JENSEN TO BE BURIED FRIDAY (TODAY)
Mr. John J. Jensen passed away on Tuesday evening, December 23, at the Blair Community Hospital where he had been for the past two weeks. He was born June 2, 1887 and was 88 years of age.
On November 26, 1913, he was married to Etta L. Metzinger and they lived on a farm all their lives, until moving to 1762 Nebraska Street.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church and was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 14 for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Etta; two sons, Delmar of Chicago and Clifford of Wahoo; also four daughters, Mrs. Donald S. Williams (Bertha) of Omaha; Mrs. Harold H. Yates (Myrtle) of Palos Heights, Illinois; Mrs. C.R. Lipke (Helen) of Lombard, Illinois; Mrs. J.T. Lynch (Bette) of Valencia Hills, California. There are fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Fred H. Jensen and two sisters, Sara Andersen and Alice Therkelsen, all of Blair, also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 26 at the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Gordon Patterson will officiate. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Pallbearers will all be members of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.
