COLUMBIA, La., Feb. 4. — J. S. Kelly, for many years a resident of Columbia, died at his home here Friday morning at five o'clock from the effects of an attack of pneumonia. Interment was made in Hillside cemetery late Friday evening, after a funeral service conducted at his home by E. B. Cottingham, a Baptist minister.
The deceased is survived by his wife and numerous other relatives, a majority of whom reside in Caldwell parish.
For several years Mr. Kelly conducted a dairy farm on a small plantation owned by him on the west side of the Ouachita river. He was 58 years old and was noted for his energy and frugality.
