Funeral services for Mrs. Maxine West Chappell, age 87, will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Pilgrims Home Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Lott officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Pilgrims Home Baptist Church, Ivan, LA.

Mrs. Chappell was born October 25, 1925 in Waynesboro, MS to Sam Terral and Berta Thelma Gladwell West and went to be with her Lord and her husband of 61 years, J.B. on May 19, 2013 in Shreveport, LA following a heart attack. She was a resident of Ivan, LA, an active member of Pilgrims Home Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Chappell was a sweet loving and caring person for her family. Since Dad's passing, mom traveled on a cruise to Alaska, taking a Disney Cruise, spending time in the summer with each family, making loving memories for all. She loved her church family and working in Vacation Bible School. Many church members stopped by for visits, mowed the yard and took her to church. We the children, thank you!

She is survived by her children, Ricky Chappell and wife, Phyllis of Damon, TX, Jean Cooper and husband, Daryl of Shreveport, LA, Randy Chappell and wife, Carol of Knoxville, TN, Anita Williams and husband, Kirk of McKinney, TX; six grandchildren, Sean and Rebecca Chappell, Nathaniel and Emily Chappell, Meredith and Trey Williams; step-granddaughters, Michelle Wagley and husband, Ronnie, Jennifer Atkinson and husband, Michael; six step great grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews and Jessica Farrington and Aaron Jorden.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Mike Dunaway, Darren Hicks, Tommy Jones, Billy Bounds, David Booker and G.M. Coker. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Kaylor, Fred Hagan and George Horst.

Donations may be made to Pilgrims Home Baptist Church, 16258 Hwy 157, Benton, LA 71006 or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or your choice.
