LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Clarence Yates Laney, age 89, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Lancaster Convalescent Center. He was born September 18, 1923 in Union County, NC, the son of the late Benjamin Oscar Laney and Beattie Manilla Montgomery Laney and was the husband of the late Elsie Hough Laney. Mr. Laney was a retired salesman and manager for Coca – Cola Company and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mr. Laney served our great country in the United States Navy during World War II on the Destroyer USS Lansdale and was a Purple Heart Recipient.
Mr. Laney is survived by a son, Dale Laney and his wife Jill of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Wanda L. Sifford and her husband Darryl, and Debbie L. Roberts both of Lancaster, a brother, Kenneth Wayne Laney of Monroe, 2 sisters, Margie Howard of Monroe, Helen Ennis of Norfolk, VA, 5 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Laney will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
