Carpenter - died in Weston State Hospital of bronco pneumonia. He was a son of the late Simeon and Martha (Herron) Shiflett. First wife was Lillie Gay Wiseman (married 1899). Mr. Shiflett was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mary Katherine Allender Miller Johnson Shiflett(married 1934); two sons, James and Rufus Shiflett, both of Dailey; a brother, Ernest Shiflett, Norton; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Currance, Mill Creek, and Mrs. Jettie Wilfong, Flenington; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Buried 3/29/1962.
