He was the owner of Clardon Dairy Farm and the Ole Fishin Hole. He served as dairy superintendent for the Borden Company at the 1939 World's Fair.

Survivors are his wife, two daughters, Margaret Saladin of Lewisville,Tx and Theresa Owen of Albuquerque, N.M; four sons, Jospeh and Kurt of Dodge City,Robert of Chapel Hill,N.C.,and Giles of Hugo,Colo.;brother Elmer of Dodge City and two sisters, Louise Mitchell of Great Bend and Esther Keller of Garden City,KS.
