Mrs. Emily DeShane Bloxton, widow of the late Rev. Floyd E. Bloxton, and daughter of former County Commissioner and Mrs. William H. DeShane, of the First district, died suddenly last Saturday, (a week before Sat, Jan 25, 1913) at her home in Baltimore. Death was due to heart failure caused by an acute attack of Bright's disease. Her husband, formerly a member of the Wilmington M. E. Conference, died several years ago. After her husband's death, Mrs. Bloxton lived for a short time at Cecilton, after removing to Baltimore, where she took an active interest in church affairs. Two daughters survive her, Pauline and Frances. Mrs. Bloxton's accomplishments and fine personal character made her very popular among the people of her former home, as well as in Baltimore, to whom her death came as a great shock and grief. The funeral services were held on Monday evening in Baltimore and interment was made at Bethel Cemetery, this county, on Tuesday.
